Bender v. National Education Association - Alaska, No. F92-010 Civil (D.C. Alaska) (a federal 1983 class action challenging the procedure for collection of “agency fees” from Alaskan school teachers not members of the union), partial summary judgment.
Fairbanks School District v. Bowers Office Products, Inc., 851 P.1d 56 (Alaska 1992) (judgment for client upholding the public contracting procedure used by the school district for awarding a million dollar copier contract).
State of Alaska v. Fairbanks North Star Borough and School District, 736 P.2d 1140 (Alaska 1987) (judgment for client holding that the governor’s impoundment of $430,000,000 was unconstitutional as a violation of separation of powers).
Fairbanks North Star Borough and School District v. State of Alaska, 753 P.2d 1158 (Alaska 1988) (holding that subsequent legislation ratifying the unconstitutional impoundment was valid even though a judgment had issued in the interim).
Grievance arbitration of a 90-day suspension imposed upon an employee for the sexual harassment of a coworker, AAA arbitrator Alan Krebs found in favor of the client and denied the grievance. 1989.
Class-action grievance arbitration involving “bumping”, “partial layoffs”, and organizational restructuring, AAA arbitrator John Abernathy found in favor of the client and denied the grievance. 1987.
